Orlando
John W. Bolanovich is Of Counsel in the Orlando office. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation and employment law, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of matters. He has litigated cases before state and federal circuits throughout Florida.
In his practice, John advises employers concerning all aspects of employment law. He has represented private and public sector employers in various labor and employment matters, including employment-related litigation in state and federal courts and administrative agencies involving age, race, national origin, sex, religion, disability and other discrimination. He has also handled harassment cases and retaliation matters involving civil rights statutes, common law wrongful discharge and wages owed, constitutional rights claims, and traditional labor matters under the Labor Management Relations Act before the NLRB. He also has experience litigating matters under the Family and Medical Leave Act, COBRA, trade secret misappropriation, ERISA, covenants not to compete, and unemployment compensation proceedings and appeals.
John’s commercial law experience includes handling matters for numerous individuals and businesses. These cases have involved construction defects, restrictive covenants, injunctions, defamation claims, commercial and residential lease negotiations and evictions, real estate closings, rescission, replevin, and various claims upon the licenses of nurses and the sellers of alcohol. John also has experience in defending class action lawsuits involving residential real estate transactions and construction defect claims.
John has held teaching positions at several colleges and universities in Florida. At Valencia Community College/Walt Disney World Center for Culinary and Hospitality Arts, he taught courses on Hospitality Law and Introduction to Hospitality Management. Also at Valencia Community College, he taught Legal Research & Theory and Paralegal Studies. At the University of Central Florida, Rosen School of Hospitality Management, he taught Legal Issues in the Hospitality Industry. At Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, he was the Director of Practicum Education.
