Jorge Ramirez focuses his practice in the areas of general liability, professional liability, product liability, construction defects, workers’ compensation, surety liability, municipal liability and business litigation. He has conducted hundreds of arbitrations and mediations in Nevada. Jorge has represented clients before the Nevada Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Additionally, his litigation experience includes cases involving contract disputes, trade infringement and collection matters. Jorge’s insurance litigation experience encompasses matters involving insurers’ subrogation rights and declaratory relief actions.

Jorge’s experience as a former staff counsel for two major insurance carriers and his employment with a multinational design and construction firm in Mexico City have given him a distinct advantage with both clients and juries. In addition to these credentials, Jorge is licensed as a broker/salesman with the Nevada Real Estate Division. Jorge concentrates a great deal of energy into positioning his arguments to most effectively counter those of his opponents. Known for his negotiation skills, Jorge builds a strong case beginning with discovery, and he uses his expertise to facilitate movement toward a positive outcome.

AREAS OF FOCUS

General Liability
Jorge is experienced in a wide range of general liability matters. He has represented clients in personal injury cases resulting from catastrophic injuries, industrial accidents, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, premises security issues, slip-and-fall accidents, and dog bites. Jorge has also represented state and municipal government entities in various personal injury and construction-related cases. In the area of product liability, he has been involved in matters concerning manufacture, warranty and failure-to-warn issues.

Workers’ Compensation
Jorge takes a direct approach to workers' compensation defense, ruling out fraud and seeking opportunities for third-party liability. When evaluating a case, he determines the events leading up to the accident and how the accident occurred, and he reviews and assesses a copy of the medical file.

Professional Liability
Jorge’s professional liability experience includes representing architects and engineers; directors and officers; real estate agents/brokers and appraisers; and various design professionals. He is experienced in representing landscape designers in cases involving both commercial and residential properties. Jorge has also represented civil, structural and mechanical engineers in cases involving high-rise commercial and residential properties.

Product Liability
Jorge’s product liability experience includes handling matters involving manufacture, warranty and failure to warn issues. Also, Jorge has handled construction defect cases. This work has included representing contractors, manufacturers and design professionals in Nevada's Chapter 40 pre-litigation process and through trial.

Construction
Jorge’s construction defect work includes representing contractors, manufacturers and design professionals in Nevada’s Chapter 40 pre-litigation process and through trial. He has also represented surety companies to defend and collect on construction, performance and consumer protection bonds.
