Tori Levine is a trial attorney with significant experience in product liability, mass tort, insurance defense and commercial litigation matters that have arisen in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and other states.
In her product liability practice, Tori has defended manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of a wide variety of products, component parts and raw materials. She also has dealt with toxic tort cases involving asbestos, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other chemicals and substances. For some clients, Tori serves as national counsel, managing all of their product liability litigation on a nationwide basis. For other clients, she serves as a member of their national product liability trial team, handling expert witness selection, preparation and coordination. Tori’s participation in high-exposure product liability cases also has provided her with the skills necessary to direct crisis communications for various businesses.
Tori has a growing practice focused on the defense of insurance brokers and agents in E&O claims, and also handles cyber liability and employment liability claims related to the theft of electronic information. Recognizing the impact of technology on the law and on her clients’ business operations, Tori is well trained and versed in forensic examination. She brings a solid understanding of the technical aspects of e-discovery that is valuable to her clients not only in bridging the communication gap between their legal and information technology staffs, but also in deposing and cross-examining technical witnesses.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Product Liability and Toxic Tort
Tori’s product liability experience is distinguished by her successes at trial on a national level. She has defended a range of products, from consumer goods to medical devices, including helmets, pressure washers, breast implants and liquid silicone.
Currently serving as national coordinating counsel for asbestos defendants, Tori is experienced in the development, presentation and cross-examination of scientific experts. Her past experience includes handling matters that involve medical devices, personal injury and wrongful death defenses, and medical malpractice. Tori also has served as national coordinating counsel for a major manufacturer in asbestos litigation involving contractor claims. In this role, her responsibilities include all pending litigation in Texas, as well as supervisory responsibility for Louisiana, Arkansas, New York and Illinois.
Tori has served as a designated public spokesperson in all types of national and local media communications relating to high-profile product liability litigation.
Insurance
Tori has insurance-related experience defending brokers and agents in E&O claims, as well as handling bad faith, medical malpractice and personal injury matters. She also enjoys extensive experience in cyber liability and employment liability claims involving breaches of non-compete agreements and employee theft of electronic information. She has utilized forensic experts to reconstruct evidence of the theft of confidential information and trade secrets taken electronically by departing employees from computers and servers. She also has obtained temporary restraining orders and temporary injunctions to halt the use of client information and the solicitation of client business and employees.
