Timothy P. Coon is a Partner in the New York and White Plains offices with more than 25 years in all areas of commercial litigation and employment discrimination. Tim is an integral member of the firm's Commercial Services Practice Group and chairs the subcommittee on commercial litigation.
Tim has represented Fortune 100 companies, governmental entities, financial organizations, educational institutions and smaller businesses in the areas of discrimination for sex, age, race, disability, religious beliefs and sexual orientation. He has defended cases related to a hostile work environment and downsizing, and he has worked on statistical discrimination cases. Tim has also advised his clients on employment counseling, led the investigation of employee misconduct including sexual harassment, discrimination and dishonesty, and drafted employee handbooks, employment contracts and termination agreements.
Tim has represented his clients in claims involving breach of contract, fraud, non-competition agreements, derivative actions, corporate theft, real estate and title insurance litigation, commercial arbitration and mediation and corporate officers and directors liability. He also provides corporate governance guidance to many of his clients.
Tim has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, California and Florida. With regard to New York, he has considerable trial experience in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York State and New York’s Ninth Judicial District.
